Mistrovství Evropy veteránů klepe na dveře.
2471 startovních čísel pro účastníky z 37 evropských zemí mají připraveno
pořadatelé 9. Mistrovství Evropy veteránů ve stolním tenise, které bude
zahájeno tuto neděli v Liberci.
Celkem 48 soutěží v 8 věkových kategoriích se bude od pondělí 20. června
hrát na 98 stolech ve 4 halách. Finále všech soutěží budou hrána v
Tipsport Aréně v soboru 25.6. od 10:00 hodin.
Liberec je na účastníky největší letošní oficiální mezinárodní sportovní
akce v České republice připraven. Turnaj byl včera rozlosován a los je
zveřejněn na www.evc2011.com.
Mezi účastníky najdeme řadu známých stolnětenisových hvězd. Dvojnásobný
Mistr Evropy ze 60. let Vlado Miko je největší hvězdou české reprezentace,
zatímco favoritem nejatraktivnější kategorie mužů 40-49 let je mistr světa
z roku 1989 Steffan Fetzner z Německa. 9-násobná mistryně Evropy Valentina
Popová přijede reprezentovat Slovenskou republiku a je největší celebritou
mezi ženami.
Ve startovní listině nalezneme dále známé tváře z byznysu i showbyznysu, v
pondělí zasáhne do soutěže i fotbalový mistr Evropy z r oku 1976 *Antonín
Panenka* (hráč okresního přeboru za Slavoj Čerčany, na neoficiálním
celočeském žebříčku stolních tenistů zařazen na 9721. místě 🙂
*99,5 roku je nejstaršímu aktivnímu účastníkovi*, kterým je Alexandr
Kaptarenko (nar. 27.1.1912), zatímco téměř *90 let je nejstarší
účastnici*, Inge-Brigitte Herrman z Německa (9.4.1921).
Slavnostní zahájení ve stylu olympijských her je na pořadu v liberecké
Tipsport Aréně již tuto neděli od 19:00 hodin.

In total 2471 starting numbers for participants from 37 European countries
is registered by the organizers of the 9th European Veterans Table Tennis
Championhsips which will be opened in Liberec, this Sunday.
48 championship competitions of 8 age categories will be played on 98
tables in 4 competitions halls from Monday, June 20 with the Final day of
Saturday, June 25.
Liberec is ready to host participants of the biggest international sports
event of this year in the Czech Republic. There are numbers of posters and
billboards in around city promoting the event, which has been drawn yesterday.

Plenty of table tennis stars and sport celebrities will take part in the
Championships. World Champion in doubles from 1989, Steffan Fetzner of
Germany will be the hotest star of Men“s 40-49 category while Valentina
Popova of Slovakia, holder of 9 European Titles is the most shining star
among women players.
There are another known actors, businessman and sport celebrities among
participants: *Antonin Panenka* (63), the man who introduced this famous
stunt on the international field (as the deciding penalty at the 1976
Football European Championships Final: Czechoslovakia-Germany) has
confirmed his participation in 2011 European Table Tennis Chamionships
long time ago.
The oldest active player, Alexandr Kaptarenko of Russia (* 27.1.1912) *is
99,5 years (!) old *while Inge-Brigitte Herrman (*9.4.1921, Germany) with
her almost 90 will be the oldest playing women player.
The Official Opening Ceremony with the Flag Parade will open the
Championships on Sunday, June 19 at 7:00 p.m.
